A healthier, cheaper and greener alternative to bottled water
The public interest is increasingly turning to the question of what is in our tap water – it makes sense to ensure the quality of our drinking water. In addition, for many reasons, the water available in bottles is by no means the ideal source of water, as these products are often nothing more than expensively packaged tap water with a pH value of 7 or less – i.e. in the acidic area – lies.
As new research shows, drinking a plastic bottle of water has the same impact on the environment as travelling a kilometre by car. The statistics are appalling and show that in Europe, an average of 160 plastic bottles of water are consumed per person each year. Production, filling, distribution and, finally, transport to waste disposal facilities correspond to a total oil consumption of more than five million litres.
